竖杆、榫头、横档
圣经中的器物
每个支架都固定到很重的金属底座上（参底座、卯眼 (base, stand, socket, mortise)）。支架由两根木制的竖杆组成，每根竖杆长5米（16.5英尺）。这些竖杆的顶部、中部和底部附近都有木横档相互联结。每根竖杆都有一小段延伸到最底下的横档以下，就像是支架的支脚。两个支脚（称为榫头）插入金属底座相应的卯眼内。
