God’s Controversy with Israel
1以色列人哪，你們當聽耶和華的話。耶和華與這地的居民爭辯，因這地上無誠實，無良善，無人認識神。2但起假誓，不踐前言，殺害，偷盜，姦淫，行強暴，殺人流血，接連不斷。3因此，這地悲哀，其上的民、田野的獸、空中的鳥必都衰微，海中的魚也必消滅。
1Listen to the word of the LORD, you sons of Israel,
Because the LORD has a case against the inhabitants of the land,
For there is no faithfulness, nor loyalty,
Nor knowledge of God in the land. 2There is oath-taking, denial, murder, stealing, and adultery.
They employ violence, so that bloodshed follows bloodshed. 3Therefore the land mourns,
And everyone who lives in it languishes
Along with the animals of the field and the birds of the sky,
And even the fish of the sea disappear.
Because the LORD has a case against the inhabitants of the land,

4Yet let no one find fault, and let no one rebuke;
For your people are like those who contend with a priest. 5So you will stumble by day,
And the prophet also will stumble with you by night;
And I will destroy your mother. 6My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Since you have rejected knowledge,
I also will reject you from being My priest.
Since you have forgotten the Law of your God,
I also will forget your children.
For your people are like those who contend with a priest. 5So you will stumble by day,

And I will destroy your mother. 6My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

I also will reject you from being My priest.

7祭司越發增多，就越發得罪我；我必使他們的榮耀變為羞辱。8他們吃我民的贖罪祭，滿心願意我民犯罪。9將來民如何，祭司也必如何；我必因他們所行的懲罰他們，照他們所做的報應他們。10他們吃，卻不得飽；行淫，而不得立後；因為他們離棄耶和華，不遵他的命。
7The more they multiplied, the more they sinned against Me;
I will change their glory into shame. 8They feed on the sin of My people,
And long for their wrongdoing. 9And it will be, like people, like priest;
So I will punish them for their ways
And repay them for their deeds. 10They will eat, but not have enough;
They will play the prostitute, but not increase,
Because they gave up devoting themselves to the LORD.

11姦淫和酒，並新酒，奪去人的心。12我的民求問木偶，以為木杖能指示他們；因為他們的淫心使他們失迷，他們就行淫離棄神，不守約束，13在各山頂，各高岡的橡樹、楊樹、栗樹之下，獻祭燒香，因為樹影美好。所以，你們的女兒淫亂，你們的新婦或譯：兒婦；下同行淫。14你們的女兒淫亂，你們的新婦行淫，我卻不懲罰她們；因為你們自己離群與娼妓同居，與妓女一同獻祭。這無知的民必致傾倒。
11Infidelity, wine, and new wine take away the understanding. 12My people consult their wooden idol, and their diviner’s wand informs them;
For a spirit of infidelity has led them astray,
And they have been unfaithful, departing from their God. 13They offer sacrifices on the tops of the mountains
And burn incense on the hills,
Under oak, poplar, and terebinth,
Because their shade is pleasant.
Therefore your daughters play the prostitute,
And your brides commit adultery. 14I will not punish your daughters when they play the prostitute,
Or your brides when they commit adultery,
Because the men themselves slip away with the prostitutes
And offer sacrifices with temple prostitutes;
So the people without understanding are ruined.

15以色列啊，你雖然行淫，猶大卻不可犯罪。不要往吉甲去，不要上到伯‧亞文，也不要指著永生的耶和華起誓。16以色列倔強，猶如倔強的母牛；現在耶和華要放他們，如同放羊羔在寬闊之地。17以法蓮親近偶像，任憑他吧！18他們所喝的已經發酸，他們時常行淫，他們的官長最愛羞恥的事。19風把他們裹在翅膀裏；他們因所獻的祭必致蒙羞。

Judah must not become guilty;
Also you are not to go to Gilgal,
Nor go up to Beth-aven
And take the oath:
“As the LORD lives!” 16Since Israel is stubborn
Like a stubborn cow,
Will the LORD now pasture them
Like a lamb in a large field? 17Ephraim is allied with idols;
Leave him alone. 18Their liquor is gone,
They prostitute themselves continually;
Their rulers dearly love shame. 19The wind wraps them in its wings,
