골풀(부들, 사초)
성경의 식물
골풀에는 잎이 없다. 골풀은 물가의 모래흙에서 자라는 줄기이다. 높이는 1미터(3피트) 이하이다. 작은 꽃들이 줄기 끝 아래쪽 옆면에 무리 지어 핀다.

호수골풀(Scirpus lacustris)과 골풀(Juncus effusus)은 지중해 지역의 늪지에서 자라는 여러 종류의 골풀(또는 사초) 가운데 두 가지이다. 몰덴케는 성지에서 Scirpus속 15종과 Juncus속 21종이 자란다고 말한다. 조하리는 RSV에서 “갈대”나 “골풀”로 번역된 히브리어 ’agmon이 포괄적인 명칭이며 특정한 식물과 동일시해서는 안 된다고 강하게 주장한다.
