Parable of the Marriage Feast
1耶穌又用比喻對他們說，2天國好比一個王，為他兒子擺設娶親的筵席。3就打發僕人去，請那些被召的人來赴席；他們卻不肯來。4王又打發別的僕人說，你們告訴那被召的人，我的筵席已經豫備好了，牛和肥畜已經宰了，各樣都齊備；請你們來赴席。5那些人不理就走了；一個到自己田裏去；一個作買賣去；6其餘的，拿住僕人，凌辱他們，把他們殺了。7王就大怒，發兵除滅那些兇手，燒燬他們的城。8於是對僕人說，喜筵已經齊備，只是所召的人不配。9所以你們要往岔路口上去，凡遇見的，都召來赴席。10那些僕人就出去到大路上，凡遇見的，不論善惡都召聚了來；筵席上就坐滿了客。
1Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying, 2“The kingdom of heaven is like a king who held a wedding feast for his son. 3“And he sent his slaves to call those who had been invited to the wedding feast, and they were unwilling to come. 4“Again he sent other slaves, saying, ‘Tell those who have been invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fattened cattle are all butchered and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast!”’ 5“But they paid no attention and went their separate ways, one to his own farm, another to his business, 6and the rest seized his slaves and treated them abusively, and then killed them. 7“Now the king was angry, and he sent his armies and destroyed those murderers and set their city on fire. 8“Then he said to his slaves, ‘The wedding feast is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. 9‘So go to the main roads, and invite whomever you find there to the wedding feast.’ 10“Those slaves went out into the streets and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good; and the wedding hall was filled with dinner guests.
11王進來觀看賓客，見那裏有一個沒有穿禮服的。12就對他說，朋友，你到這裏來，怎麼不穿禮服呢。那人無言可答。13於是王對使喚的人說，捆起他的手腳來，把他丟在外邊的黑暗裏；在那裏必要哀哭切齒了。14因為被召的人多，選上的人少。
11“But when the king came in to look over the dinner guests, he saw a man there who was not dressed in wedding clothes, 12and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without wedding clothes?’ And the man was speechless. 13“Then the king said to the servants, ‘Tie his hands and feet, and throw him into the outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth in that place.’ 14“For many are called, but few are chosen.”
Poll-tax to Caesar
15當時，法利賽人出去商議，怎樣就著耶穌的話陷害他。16就打發他們的門徒，同希律黨的人，去見耶穌說，夫子，我們知道你是誠實人，並且誠誠實實傳神的道，甚麼人你都不徇情面，因為你不看人的外貌。17請告訴我們，你的意見如何；納稅給該撒；可以不可以。18耶穌看出他們的惡意，就說，假冒為善的人哪，為甚麼試探我；19拿一個上稅的錢給我看。他們就拿一個銀錢來給他。20耶穌說，這像和這號是誰的。21他們說，是該撒的。耶穌說，這樣，該撒的物當歸給該撒，神的物當歸給神。22他們聽見就希奇，離開他走了。
15Then the Pharisees went and plotted together how they might trap Him in what He said. 16And they sent their disciples to Him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that You are truthful and teach the way of God in truth, and do not care what anyone thinks; for You are not partial to anyone. 17“Tell us then, what do You think? Is it permissible to pay a poll-tax to Caesar, or not?” 18But Jesus perceived their malice, and said, “Why are you testing Me, you hypocrites? 19“Show Me the coin used for the poll-tax.” And they brought Him a denarius. 20And He said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?” 21They said to Him, “Caesar’s.” Then He said to them, “Then pay to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s; and to God the things that are God’s.” 22And hearing this, they were amazed; and they left Him and went away.
Jesus Answers the Sadducees
23撒都該人常說沒有復活的事。那天，他們來問耶穌說，24夫子，摩西說，人若死了，沒有孩子，他兄弟當娶他的妻，為哥哥生子立後。25從前在我們這裏，有弟兄七人；第一個娶了妻，死了，沒有孩子，撇下妻子給兄弟。26第二第三直到第七個，都是如此。27末後，婦人也死了。28這樣，當復活的時候，他是七個人中，那一個的妻子呢；因為他們都娶過她。
23On that day some Sadducees (who say there is no resurrection) came to Jesus and questioned Him, 24saying, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies having no children, his brother as next of kin shall marry his wife, and raise up children for his brother.’ 25“Now there were seven brothers among us; and the first married and died, and having no children, he left his wife to his brother. 26It was the same also with the second brother, and the third, down to the seventh. 27“Last of all, the woman died. 28“In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had her in marriage.”
29耶穌回答說，你們錯了；因為不明白聖經，也不曉得神的大能。30當復活的時候，人也不娶也不嫁，乃像天上的使者一樣。31論到死人復活，神在經上向你們所說的，你們沒有念過麼。32他說，我是亞伯拉罕的神，以撒的神，雅各的神。神不是死人的神，乃是活人的神。33眾人聽見這話，就希奇他的教訓。
29But Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, since you do not understand the Scriptures nor the power of God. 30“For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. 31“But regarding the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God: 32‘I AM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB’? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.” 33When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at His teaching.
34法利賽人聽見，耶穌堵住了撒都該人的口，他們就聚集。35內中有一個人是律法師，要試探耶穌，就問他說，36夫子，律法上的誡命，那一條是最大的呢。37耶穌對他說，你要盡心，盡性，盡意，愛主你的神。38這是誡命中的第一，且是最大的。39其次也相倣，就是要愛人如己。40這兩條誡命，是律法和先知一切道理的總綱。
34But when the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35And one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him: 36“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37And He said to him, “‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’ 38“This is the great and foremost commandment. 39“The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ 40“Upon these two commandments hang the whole Law and the Prophets.”
41法利賽人聚集的時候，耶穌問他們說，42論到基督，你們的意見如何；他是誰的子孫呢。他們回答說，是大衛的子孫。43耶穌說，這樣，大衛被聖靈感動，怎麼還稱他為主；說，44主對我主說，你坐在我的右邊，等我把你仇敵放在你的腳下。45大衛既稱他為主，他怎麼又是大衛的子孫呢。46他們沒有一個人能回答一言；從那日以後，也沒有人敢再問他甚麼。
41Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question: 42“What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is He?” They said to Him, “The son of David.” 43He said to them, “Then how does David in the Spirit call Him ‘Lord,’ saying, 44‘THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD,
“SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND,
UNTIL I PUT YOUR ENEMIES UNDER YOUR FEET”’? 45“Therefore, if David calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his son?” 46No one was able to offer Him a word in answer, nor did anyone dare from that day on to ask Him any more questions.
“SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND,
UNTIL I PUT YOUR ENEMIES UNDER YOUR FEET”’? 45“Therefore, if David calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his son?” 46No one was able to offer Him a word in answer, nor did anyone dare from that day on to ask Him any more questions.
