Samson’s Weakness
1參孫到了迦薩，在那裏看見一個妓女，就與她親近。2有人告訴迦薩人說：「參孫到這裏來了！」他們就把他團團圍住，終夜在城門悄悄埋伏，說：「等到天亮我們便殺他。」3參孫睡到半夜，起來，將城門的門扇、門框、門閂，一齊拆下來，扛在肩上，扛到希伯崙前的山頂上。
1Now Samson went to Gaza and saw a prostitute there, and had relations with her. 2When it was reported to the Gazites, saying, “Samson has come here,” they surrounded the place and lay in wait for him all night at the gate of the city. And they kept silent all night, saying, “Let’s wait until the morning light, then we will kill him.” 3Now Samson lay asleep until midnight, and at midnight he got up and took hold of the doors of the city gate and the two doorposts, and pulled them up along with the bars; then he put them on his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of the mountain which is opposite Hebron.
4後來，參孫在梭烈谷喜愛一個婦人，名叫大利拉。5非利士人的首領上去見那婦人，對她說：「求你誆哄參孫，探探他因何有這麼大的力氣，我們用何法能勝他，捆綁剋制他。我們就每人給你一千一百舍客勒銀子。」6大利拉對參孫說：「求你告訴我，你因何有這麼大的力氣，當用何法捆綁剋制你。」7參孫回答說：「人若用七條未乾的青繩子捆綁我，我就軟弱像別人一樣。」8於是非利士人的首領拿了七條未乾的青繩子來，交給婦人，她就用繩子捆綁參孫。9有人預先埋伏在婦人的內室裏。婦人說：「參孫哪，非利士人拿你來了！」參孫就掙斷繩子，如掙斷經火的麻線一般。這樣，他力氣的根由人還是不知道。
4After this it came about that he was in love with a woman in the Valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah. 5So the governors of the Philistines came up to her and said to her, “Entice him, and see where his great strength lies and how we can overpower him so that we may bind him to humble him. Then we will each give you 1,100 pieces of silver.” 6So Delilah said to Samson, “Please tell me where your great strength lies, and how you can be bound to humble you.” 7And Samson said to her, “If they bind me with seven fresh animal tendons that have not been dried, then I will become weak and be like any other man.” 8Then the governors of the Philistines brought up to her seven fresh animal tendons that had not been dried, and she bound him with them. 9Now she had men prepared for an ambush in an inner room. And she said to him, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” But he tore the tendons to pieces just like a thread of flax is torn apart when it comes too close to fire. So his strength was not discovered.
10大利拉對參孫說：「你欺哄我，向我說謊言。現在求你告訴我當用何法捆綁你。」11參孫回答說：「人若用沒有使過的新繩捆綁我，我就軟弱像別人一樣。」12大利拉就用新繩捆綁他，對他說：「參孫哪，非利士人拿你來了！」有人預先埋伏在內室裏。參孫將臂上的繩掙斷了，如掙斷一條線一樣。
10Then Delilah said to Samson, “Behold, you have toyed with me and told me lies; now please tell me how you may be bound.” 11Then he said to her, “If they bind me tightly with new ropes which have not been used, then I will become weak and be like any other man.” 12So Delilah took new ropes and bound him with them and said to him, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” For the men in the ambush were waiting in the inner room. But he tore the ropes from his arms like thread.
13大利拉對參孫說：「你到如今還是欺哄我，向我說謊言。求你告訴我，當用何法捆綁你。」參孫回答說：「你若將我頭上的七條髮綹，與緯線同織就可以了。」14於是大利拉將他的髮綹與緯線同織，用橛子釘住，對他說：「參孫哪，非利士人拿你來了！」參孫從睡中醒來，將機上的橛子和緯線一齊都拔出來了。
13Then Delilah said to Samson, “Up to now you have toyed with me and told me lies; tell me how you may be bound.” And he said to her, “If you weave the seven locks of my hair with the web [and fasten it with the pin, then I will be weak like any other man.” 14So while he slept, Delilah wove the seven locks of his hair with the web]. And she fastened it with the pin and said to him, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” But he awoke from his sleep and pulled out the pin of the loom and the web.
Delilah Extracts His Secret
15大利拉對參孫說：「你既不與我同心，怎麼說你愛我呢？你這三次欺哄我，沒有告訴我，你因何有這麼大的力氣。」16大利拉天天用話催逼他，甚至他心裏煩悶要死。17參孫就把心中所藏的都告訴了她，對她說：「向來人沒有用剃頭刀剃我的頭，因為我自出母胎就歸神作拿細耳人；若剃了我的頭髮，我的力氣就離開我，我便軟弱像別人一樣。」
15Then she said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when your heart is not with me? You have toyed with me these three times and have not told me where your great strength is.” 16And it came about, when she pressed him daily with her words and urged him, that his soul was annoyed to death. 17So he told her all that was in his heart and said to her, “A razor has never come on my head, for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother’s womb. If I am shaved, then my strength will leave me and I will become weak and be like any other man.”
18大利拉見他把心中所藏的都告訴了她，就打發人到非利士人的首領那裏，對他們說：「他已經把心中所藏的都告訴了我，請你們再上來一次。」於是非利士人的首領手裏拿著銀子，上到婦人那裏。19大利拉使參孫枕著她的膝睡覺，叫了一個人來剃除他頭上的七條髮綹。於是大利拉剋制他，他的力氣就離開他了。20大利拉說：「參孫哪，非利士人拿你來了！」參孫從睡中醒來，心裏說：「我要像前幾次出去活動身體」；他卻不知道耶和華已經離開他了。21非利士人將他拿住，剜了他的眼睛，帶他下到迦薩，用銅鍊拘索他；他就在監裏推磨。22然而他的頭髮被剃之後，又漸漸長起來了。
18When Delilah saw that he had told her all that was in his heart, she sent word and called the governors of the Philistines, saying, “Come up once more, for he has told me all that is in his heart.” Then the governors of the Philistines came up to her and brought up the money in their hands. 19And she made him sleep on her knees, and called for a man and had him shave off the seven locks of his head. Then she began to humble him, and his strength left him. 20She said, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” And he awoke from his sleep and said, “I will go out as at other times and shake myself free.” But he did not know that the LORD had departed from him. 21Then the Philistines seized him and gouged out his eyes; and they brought him down to Gaza and restrained him with bronze chains, and he became a grinder in the prison. 22However, the hair of his head began to grow again after it was shaved off.

23Now the governors of the Philistines assembled to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god, and to celebrate, for they said,
“Our god has handed Samson our enemy over to us.” 24When the people saw him, they praised their god, for they said,
“Our god has handed our enemy over to us,
Even the destroyer of our country,
Who has killed many of us.” 25It so happened when they were in high spirits, that they said, “Call for Samson, that he may amuse us.” So they called for Samson from the prison, and he entertained them. And they made him stand between the pillars. 26Then Samson said to the boy who was holding his hand, “Let me feel the pillars on which the house rests, so that I may lean against them.” 27Now the house was full of men and women, and all the governors of the Philistines were there. And about three thousand men and women were on the roof looking on while Samson was entertaining them.
“Our god has handed Samson our enemy over to us.” 24When the people saw him, they praised their god, for they said,
“Our god has handed our enemy over to us,
Even the destroyer of our country,
Who has killed many of us.” 25It so happened when they were in high spirits, that they said, “Call for Samson, that he may amuse us.” So they called for Samson from the prison, and he entertained them. Samson Is Avenged
28參孫求告耶和華說：「主耶和華啊，求你眷念我。神啊，求你賜我這一次的力量，使我在非利士人身上報那剜我雙眼的仇。」29參孫就抱住托房的那兩根柱子：左手抱一根，右手抱一根，30說：「我情願與非利士人同死！」就盡力屈身，房子倒塌，壓住首領和房內的眾人。這樣，參孫死時所殺的人比活著所殺的還多。31參孫的弟兄和他父的全家都下去取他的屍首，抬上來葬在瑣拉和以實陶中間，在他父瑪挪亞的墳墓裏。參孫作以色列的士師二十年。
28Then Samson called to the LORD and said, “Lord GOD, please remember me and please strengthen me just this time, O God, that I may at once take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes.” 29Then Samson grasped the two middle pillars on which the house rested, and braced himself against them, the one with his right hand and the other with his left. 30And Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” And he pushed outwards powerfully, so that the house fell on the governors and all the people who were in it. And the dead whom he killed at his death were more than those whom he killed during his lifetime. 31Then his brothers and all his father’s household came down and took him, and brought him up and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the tomb of his father Manoah. So he had judged Israel for twenty years.
