The Adulterous Woman
1于是各人都回家去了；耶稣却往橄榄山去，2清早又回到殿里。众百姓都到他那里去，他就坐下，教训他们。3文士和法利赛人带着一个行淫时被拿的妇人来，叫她站在当中，4就对耶稣说：「夫子，这妇人是正行淫之时被拿的。5摩西在律法上吩咐我们把这样的妇人用石头打死。你说该把她怎么样呢？」6他们说这话，乃试探耶稣，要得着告他的把柄。耶稣却弯着腰，用指头在地上画字。7他们还是不住地问他，耶稣就直起腰来，对他们说：「你们中间谁是没有罪的，谁就可以先拿石头打她。」8于是又弯着腰，用指头在地上画字。9他们听见这话，就从老到少，一个一个地都出去了，只剩下耶稣一人，还有那妇人仍然站在当中。10耶稣就直起腰来，对她说：「妇人，那些人在哪里呢？没有人定你的罪吗？」11她说：「主啊，没有。」耶稣说：「我也不定你的罪。去吧，从此不要再犯罪了！」
1But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2And early in the morning He came again into the temple area, and all the people were coming to Him; and He sat down and began teaching them. 3Now the scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman caught in the act of adultery, and after placing her in the center of the courtyard, 4they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the very act of committing adultery. 5“Now in the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such women; what then do You say?” 6Now they were saying this to test Him, so that they might have grounds for accusing Him. But Jesus stooped down and with His finger wrote on the ground. 7When they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9Now when they heard this, they began leaving, one by one, beginning with the older ones, and He was left alone, and the woman where she was, in the center of the courtyard. 10And straightening up, Jesus said to her, “Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?” 11She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on do not sin any longer.”]]
Jesus Is the Light of the World
12耶稣又对众人说：「我是世界的光。跟从我的，就不在黑暗里走，必要得着生命的光。」13法利赛人对他说：「你是为自己作见证，你的见证不真。」14耶稣说：「我虽然为自己作见证，我的见证还是真的；因我知道我从哪里来，往哪里去；你们却不知道我从哪里来，往哪里去。15你们是以外貌原文是凭肉身判断人，我却不判断人。16就是判断人，我的判断也是真的；因为不是我独自在这里，还有差我来的父与我同在。17你们的律法上也记着说：『两个人的见证是真的。』18我是为自己作见证，还有差我来的父也是为我作见证。」19他们就问他说：「你的父在哪里？」耶稣回答说：「你们不认识我，也不认识我的父；若是认识我，也就认识我的父。」20这些话是耶稣在殿里的库房、教训人时所说的，也没有人拿他，因为他的时候还没有到。
12Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; the one who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” 13So the Pharisees said to Him, “You are testifying about Yourself; Your testimony is not true.” 14Jesus answered and said to them, “Even if I am testifying about Myself, My testimony is true, because I know where I came from and where I am going; but you do not know where I come from or where I am going. 15“You judge according to the flesh; I am not judging anyone. 16“But even if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone in it, but I and the Father who sent Me. 17“Even in your Law it has been written that the testimony of two people is true. 18“I am He who testifies about Myself, and the Father who sent Me testifies about Me.” 19So they were saying to Him, “Where is Your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither Me nor My Father; if you knew Me, you would know My Father also.” 20These words He spoke in the treasury, as He taught in the temple area; and no one arrested Him, because His hour had not yet come.
21耶稣又对他们说：「我要去了，你们要找我，并且你们要死在罪中。我所去的地方，你们不能到。」22犹太人说：「他说『我所去的地方，你们不能到』，难道他要自尽吗？」23耶稣对他们说：「你们是从下头来的，我是从上头来的；你们是属这世界的，我不是属这世界的。24所以我对你们说，你们要死在罪中。你们若不信我是基督，必要死在罪中。」25他们就问他说：「你是谁？」耶稣对他们说：「就是我从起初所告诉你们的。26我有许多事讲论你们，判断你们；但那差我来的是真的，我在他那里所听见的，我就传给世人。」27他们不明白耶稣是指着父说的。28所以耶稣说：「你们举起人子以后，必知道我是基督，并且知道我没有一件事是凭着自己做的。我说这些话乃是照着父所教训我的。29那差我来的是与我同在；他没有撇下我独自在这里，因为我常做他所喜悦的事。」30耶稣说这话的时候，就有许多人信他。
21Then He said again to them, “I am going away, and you will look for Me, and will die in your sin; where I am going, you cannot come.” 22So the Jews were saying, “Surely He will not kill Himself, will He, since He says, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come’?” 23And He was saying to them, “You are from below, I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world. 24“Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am, you will die in your sins.” 25Then they were saying to Him, “Who are You?” Jesus said to them, “What have I even been saying to you from the beginning? 26“I have many things to say and to judge regarding you, but He who sent Me is true; and the things which I heard from Him, these I say to the world.” 27They did not realize that He was speaking to them about the Father. 28So Jesus said, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am, and I do nothing on My own, but I say these things as the Father instructed Me. 29“And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.” 30As He said these things, many came to believe in Him.
The Truth Will Set You Free
31耶稣对信他的犹太人说：「你们若常常遵守我的道，就真是我的门徒；32你们必晓得真理，真理必叫你们得以自由。」33他们回答说：「我们是亚伯拉罕的后裔，从来没有作过谁的奴仆。你怎么说『你们必得以自由』呢？」
31So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly My disciples; 32and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” 33They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, ‘You will become free’?”
34耶稣回答说：「我实实在在地告诉你们，所有犯罪的就是罪的奴仆。35奴仆不能永远住在家里；儿子是永远住在家里。36所以天父的儿子若叫你们自由，你们就真自由了。37我知道你们是亚伯拉罕的子孙，你们却想要杀我，因为你们心里容不下我的道。38我所说的是在我父那里看见的；你们所行的是在你们的父那里听见的。」
34Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin. 35“Now the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. 36“So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free. 37“I know that you are Abraham’s descendants; yet you are seeking to kill Me, because My word has no place in you. 38“I speak of the things which I have seen with My Father; therefore you also do the things which you heard from your father.”
39他们说：「我们的父就是亚伯拉罕。」耶稣说：「你们若是亚伯拉罕的儿子，就必行亚伯拉罕所行的事。40我将在神那里所听见的真理告诉了你们，现在你们却想要杀我，这不是亚伯拉罕所行的事。41你们是行你们父所行的事。」他们说：「我们不是从淫乱生的；我们只有一位父，就是神。」42耶稣说：「倘若神是你们的父，你们就必爱我；因为我本是出于神，也是从神而来，并不是由着自己来，乃是他差我来。43你们为什么不明白我的话呢？无非是因你们不能听我的道。44你们是出于你们的父魔鬼，你们父的私欲你们偏要行。他从起初是杀人的，不守真理，因他心里没有真理。他说谎是出于自己；因他本来是说谎的，也是说谎之人的父。45我将真理告诉你们，你们就因此不信我。46你们中间谁能指证我有罪呢？我既然将真理告诉你们，为什么不信我呢？47出于神的，必听神的话；你们不听，因为你们不是出于神。」
39They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you are Abraham’s children, do the deeds of Abraham. 40“But as it is, you are seeking to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God; this Abraham did not do. 41“You are doing the deeds of your father.” They said to Him, “We were not born as a result of sexual immorality; we have one Father: God.” 42Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I came forth from God and am here; for I have not even come on My own, but He sent Me. 43“Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot listen to My word. 44“You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies. 45“But because I say the truth, you do not believe Me. 46“Which one of you convicts Me of sin? If I speak truth, why do you not believe Me? 47“The one who is of God hears the words of God; for this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God.”
48犹太人回答说：「我们说你是撒马利亚人，并且是鬼附着的，这话岂不正对吗？」49耶稣说：「我不是鬼附着的；我尊敬我的父，你们倒轻慢我。50我不求自己的荣耀，有一位为我求荣耀、定是非的。51我实实在在地告诉你们，人若遵守我的道，就永远不见死。」52犹太人对他说：「现在我们知道你是鬼附着的。亚伯拉罕死了，众先知也死了，你还说：『人若遵守我的道，就永远不尝死味。』53难道你比我们的祖宗亚伯拉罕还大吗？他死了，众先知也死了，你将自己当作什么人呢？」54耶稣回答说：「我若荣耀自己，我的荣耀就算不得什么；荣耀我的乃是我的父，就是你们所说是你们的神。55你们未曾认识他；我却认识他。我若说不认识他，我就是说谎的，像你们一样；但我认识他，也遵守他的道。56你们的祖宗亚伯拉罕欢欢喜喜地仰望我的日子，既看见了就快乐。」57犹太人说：「你还没有五十岁，岂见过亚伯拉罕呢？」58耶稣说：「我实实在在地告诉你们，还没有亚伯拉罕就有了我。」59于是他们拿石头要打他；耶稣却躲藏，从殿里出去了。
48The Jews answered and said to Him, “Do we not rightly say that You are a Samaritan, and You have a demon?” 49Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon; on the contrary, I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me. 50“But I am not seeking My glory; there is One who seeks it, and judges. 51“Truly, truly I say to you, if anyone follows My word, he will never see death.” 52The Jews said to Him, “Now we know that You have a demon. Abraham died, and the prophets as well; and yet You say, ‘If anyone follows My word, he will never taste of death.’ 53“You are not greater than our father Abraham, who died, are You? The prophets died too. Whom do You make Yourself out to be?” 54Jesus answered, “If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God’; 55and you have not come to know Him, but I know Him. And if I say that I do not know Him, I will be a liar like you; but I do know Him, and I follow His word. 56“Your father Abraham was overjoyed that he would see My day, and he saw it and rejoiced.” 57So the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and You have seen Abraham?” 58Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.” 59Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him, but Jesus hid Himself and left the temple grounds.
