Jesus Comforts His Disciples
Oneness with the Father
1“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. 2“In My Father’s house are many rooms; if that were not so, I would have told you, because I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I am coming again and will take you to Myself, so that where I am, there you also will be. 4“And you know the way where I am going.” 5Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going; how do we know the way?” 6Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me. 7“If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.”
1你們心裏不要憂愁；你們信神，也當信我。2在我父的家裏，有許多住處；若是沒有，我就早已告訴你們了；我去原是為你們豫備地方去。3我若去為你們豫備了地方，就必再來接你們到我那裏去；我在那裏，叫你們也在那裏。4我往那裏去，你們知道；那條路，你們也知道。有古卷作我往那裏去你們知道那條路5多馬對他說，主阿，我們不知道你往那裏去，怎麼知道那條路呢。6耶穌說，我就是道路，真理，生命；若不藉著我，沒有人能到父那裏去。7你們若認識我，也就認識我的父；從今以後，你們認識他，並且已經看見他。
8Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” 9Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you for so long a time, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? The one who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10“Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own, but the Father, as He remains in Me, does His works. 11“Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves. 12“Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I am going to the Father. 13“And whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14“If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.
8腓力對他說，求主將父顯給我們看，我們就知足了。9耶穌對他說，腓力，我與你們同在這樣長久，你還不認識我麼。人看見了我，就是看見了父；你怎麼說，將父顯給我們看呢。10我在父裏面，父在我裏面，你不信麼。我對你們所說的話，不是憑著自己說的，乃是住在我裏面的父作他自己的事。11你們當信我，我在父裏面，父在我裏面；即或不信，也當因我所作的事信我。12我實實在在的告訴你們，我所作的事，信我的人也要作，並且要作比這更大的事；因為我往父那裏去。13你們奉我的名，無論求甚麼，我必成就，叫父因兒子得榮耀。14你們若奉我的名求甚麼，我必成就。
The Holy Spirit
15“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. 16“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, so that He may be with you forever; 17the Helper is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him; but you know Him because He remains with you and will be in you.
15你們若愛我，就必遵守我的命令。16我要求父，父就另外賜給你們一位保惠師，或作訓慰師下同叫他永遠與你們同在，17就是真理的聖靈，乃世人不能接受的；因為不見他，也不認識他；你們卻認識他；因他常與你們同在，也要在你們裏面。
18“I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you. 19“After a little while, the world no longer is going to see Me, but you are going to see Me; because I live, you also will live. 20“On that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I in you. 21“The one who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will reveal Myself to him.” 22Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, what has happened that You are going to reveal Yourself to us and not to the world?” 23Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will follow My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our dwelling with him. 24“The one who does not love Me does not follow My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.
18我不撇下你們為孤兒，我必到你們這裏來。19還有不多的時候，世人不再看見我；你們卻看見我；因為我活著，你們也要活著。20到那日你們就知道我在父裏面，你們在我裏面，我也在你們裏面。21有了我的命令又遵守的，這人就是愛我的；愛我的，必蒙我父愛他，我也要愛他，並且要向他顯現。22猶大，不是加略人猶大，問耶穌說，主阿，為甚麼要向我們顯現，不向世人顯現呢。23耶穌回答說，人若愛我，就必遵守我的道；我父也必愛他，並且我們要到他那裏去，與他同住。24不愛我的人就不遵守我的道；你們所聽見的道不是我的，乃是差我來之父的道。
25“These things I have spoken to you while remaining with you. 26“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and remind you of all that I said to you. 27“Peace I leave you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor fearful. 28“You heard that I said to you, ‘I am going away, and I am coming to you.’ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 29“And now I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe. 30“I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in regard to Me, 31but so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. Get up, let’s go from here.
25我還與你們同住的時候，已將這些話對你們說了。26但保惠師，就是父因我的名所要差來的聖靈，他要將一切的事，指教你們，並且要叫你們想起我對你們所說的一切話。27我留下平安給你們，我將我的平安賜給你們；我所賜的，不像世人所賜的；你們心裏不要憂愁，也不要膽怯。28你們聽見我對你們說了，我去還要到你們這裏來。你們若愛我，因我到父那裏去，就必喜樂，因為父是比我大的。29現在事情還沒有成就，我豫先告訴你們，叫你們到事情成就的時候，就可以信。30以後我不再和你們多說話，因為這世界的王將到；他在我裏面是毫無所有；31但要叫世人知道我愛父，並且父怎樣吩咐我，我就怎樣行。起來，我們走罷。
