Prophecy against Philistia
1法老攻擊迦薩之先，有耶和華論非利士人的話臨到先知耶利米。
1The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh conquered Gaza.
2耶和華如此說：有水從北方發起，成為漲溢的河，要漲過遍地和其中所有的，並城和其中所住的。人必呼喊；境內的居民都必哀號。
2This is what the LORD says:
“Behold, waters are going to rise from the north
And become an overflowing torrent,
And overflow the land and everything that is in it,
The city and those who live in it;
And the people will cry out,
And every inhabitant of the land will wail.

3聽見敵人壯馬蹄跳的響聲和戰車隆隆、車輪轟轟；為父的手就發軟，不回頭看顧兒女。
3“Because of the noise of the galloping hoofs of his stallions,
The roar of his chariots, and the rumbling of his wheels,
The fathers have not turned back for their children,
Because of the debility of their hands,

4因為日子將到，要毀滅一切非利士人，剪除幫助泰爾、西頓所剩下的人。原來耶和華必毀滅非利士人，就是迦斐託海島餘剩的人。
4Because of the day that is coming
To destroy all the Philistines,
To eliminate from Tyre and Sidon
Every surviving ally;
For the LORD is going to destroy the Philistines,
The remnant of the coastland of Caphtor.

5迦薩成了光禿；平原中所剩的亞實基倫歸於無有。你用刀劃身，要到幾時呢？
5“Baldness has come upon Gaza;
Ashkelon has been destroyed.
Remnant of their valley,
How long will you gash yourself?
