Israel’s Mourning Turned to Joy
1耶和華說：「那時，我必作以色列各家的神；他們必作我的子民。」
1“At that time,” declares the LORD, “I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people.”
2耶和華如此說：脫離刀劍的就是以色列人。我使他享安息的時候，他曾在曠野蒙恩。3古時或譯：從遠方耶和華向以色列原文是我顯現，說：我以永遠的愛愛你，因此我以慈愛吸引你。4以色列的民原文是處女哪，我要再建立你，你就被建立；你必再以擊鼓為美，與歡樂的人一同跳舞而出；5又必在撒馬利亞的山上栽種葡萄園，栽種的人要享用所結的果子。6日子必到，以法蓮山上守望的人必呼叫說：起來吧！我們可以上錫安，到耶和華─我們的神那裏去。
2This is what the LORD says:
“The people who survived the sword
Found grace in the wilderness—
Israel, when it went to find its rest.” 3The LORD appeared to him long ago, saying,
“I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore I have drawn you out with kindness. 4“I will build you again and you will be rebuilt,
Virgin of Israel!
You will take up your tambourines again,
And go out to the dances of the revelers. 5“Again you will plant vineyards
On the hills of Samaria;
The planters will plant
And will enjoy the fruit. 6“For there will be a day when watchmen
On the hills of Ephraim call out,
‘Arise, and let’s go up to Zion,
To the LORD our God.’”

7For this is what the LORD says:
“Sing aloud with joy for Jacob,
And be joyful with the chief of the nations;
Proclaim, give praise, and say,
‘LORD, save Your people,
The remnant of Israel!’ 8“Behold, I am bringing them from the north country,
And I will gather them from the remote parts of the earth,
Among them those who are blind and those who limp,
The pregnant woman and she who is in labor, together;
They will return here as a great assembly. 9“They will come with weeping,
And by pleading I will bring them;
I will lead them by streams of waters,
On a straight path on which they will not stumble;
For I am a father to Israel,
And Ephraim is My firstborn.”

10Hear the word of the LORD, you nations,
And declare it in the coastlands far away,
And say, “He who scattered Israel will gather him,
And He will keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.” 11For the LORD has ransomed Jacob
And redeemed him from the hand of him who was stronger than he. 12“They will come and shout for joy on the height of Zion,
And they will be radiant over the bounty of the LORD—
Over the grain, the new wine, the oil,
And over the young of the flock and the herd.
And their life will be like a watered garden,
And they will never languish again. 13“Then the virgin will rejoice in the dance,
And the young men and the old together;
For I will turn their mourning into joy
And comfort them, and give them joy for their sorrow. 14“I will refresh the soul of the priests with abundance,
And My people will be satisfied with My goodness,” declares the LORD.
And declare it in the coastlands far away,

15耶和華如此說：在拉瑪聽見號咷痛哭的聲音，是拉結哭她兒女，不肯受安慰，因為他們都不在了。16耶和華如此說：你禁止聲音不要哀哭，禁止眼目不要流淚，因你所做之工必有賞賜；他們必從敵國歸回。這是耶和華說的。17耶和華說：你末後必有指望；你的兒女必回到自己的境界。18我聽見以法蓮為自己悲歎說：你責罰我，我便受責罰，像不慣負軛的牛犢一樣。求你使我回轉，我便回轉，因為你是耶和華─我的神。19我回轉以後就真正懊悔；受教以後就拍腿歎息；我因擔當幼年的凌辱就抱愧蒙羞。20耶和華說：以法蓮是我的愛子嗎？是可喜悅的孩子嗎？我每逢責備他，仍深顧念他；所以我的心腸戀慕他；我必要憐憫他。
15This is what the LORD says:
“A voice is heard in Ramah,
Lamenting and bitter weeping.
Rachel is weeping for her children;
She refuses to be comforted for her children,
Because they are no more.” 16This is what the LORD says:
“Restrain your voice from weeping
And your eyes from tears;
For your work will be rewarded,” declares the LORD,
“And they will return from the land of the enemy. 17“There is hope for your future,” declares the LORD,
“And your children will return to their own territory. 18“I have certainly heard Ephraim grieving,
‘You have disciplined me, and I was corrected,
Like an untrained calf;
Bring me back that I may be restored,
For You are the LORD my God. 19‘For after I turned back, I repented;
And after I was instructed, I slapped my thigh;
I was ashamed and also humiliated
Because I bore the shame of my youth.’ 20“Is Ephraim My dear son?
Is he a delightful child?
Indeed, as often as I have spoken against him,
I certainly still remember him;
Therefore My heart yearns for him;
I will certainly have mercy on him,” declares the LORD.

23This is what the LORD of armies, the God of Israel says: “Once again they will speak this word in the land of Judah and in its cities when I restore their fortunes,
‘The LORD bless you, O place of righteousness,
O holy hill!’ 24“Judah and all its cities will live together in it, the farmers and those who travel with flocks. 25“For I give plenty of water to the weary ones, and refresh everyone who languishes.” 26At this I awoke and looked, and my sleep had been pleasant to me.

A New Covenant
27耶和華說：「日子將到，我要把人的種和牲畜的種播種在以色列家和猶大家。28我先前怎樣留意將他們拔出、拆毀、毀壞、傾覆、苦害，也必照樣留意將他們建立、栽植。這是耶和華說的。29當那些日子，人不再說：父親吃了酸葡萄，兒子的牙酸倒了。30但各人必因自己的罪死亡；凡吃酸葡萄的，自己的牙必酸倒。」
27“Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of mankind and the seed of animals. 28“And just as I have watched over them to uproot them, tear them down, ruin, destroy, and bring disaster on them, so I will watch over them to build and to plant them,” declares the LORD. 29“In those days they will no longer say,
‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes,
But it is the children’s teeth that have become blunt.’ 30“But everyone will die for his own wrongdoing; each person who eats the sour grapes, his own teeth will become blunt.

31耶和華說：「日子將到，我要與以色列家和猶大家另立新約，32不像我拉著他們祖宗的手，領他們出埃及地的時候，與他們所立的約。我雖作他們的丈夫，他們卻背了我的約。這是耶和華說的。」33耶和華說：「那些日子以後，我與以色列家所立的約乃是這樣：我要將我的律法放在他們裏面，寫在他們心上。我要作他們的神，他們要作我的子民。34他們各人不再教導自己的鄰舍和自己的弟兄說：『你該認識耶和華』，因為他們從最小的到至大的都必認識我。我要赦免他們的罪孽，不再記念他們的罪惡。這是耶和華說的。」
31“Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, 32not like the covenant which I made with their fathers on the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD. 33“For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the LORD: “I will put My law within them and write it on their heart; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34“They will not teach again, each one his neighbor and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares the LORD, “for I will forgive their wrongdoing, and their sin I will no longer remember.”
35那使太陽白日發光，使星月有定例，黑夜發亮，又攪動大海，使海中波浪匉訇的，萬軍之耶和華是他的名。他如此說：36這些定例若能在我面前廢掉，以色列的後裔也就在我面前斷絕，永遠不再成國。這是耶和華說的。37耶和華如此說：若能量度上天，尋察下地的根基，我就因以色列後裔一切所行的棄絕他們。這是耶和華說的。
35This is what the LORD says,
He who gives the sun for light by day
And the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night,
Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar—
The LORD of armies is His name: 36“If this fixed order departs
From Me,” declares the LORD,
“Then the descendants of Israel also will cease
To be a nation before Me forever.” 37This is what the LORD says:
“If the heavens above can be measured
And the foundations of the earth searched out below,
Then I will also reject all the descendants of Israel
For everything that they have done,” declares the LORD.
He who gives the sun for light by day

38“Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when the city will be rebuilt for the LORD from the Tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate. 39“The measuring line will go out farther straight ahead, to the hill Gareb; then it will turn to Goah. 40“And the entire valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields as far as the brook Kidron to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, shall be holy to the LORD; it will not be uprooted or overthrown ever again.”
