Babylon’s Idols and the True God
1彼勒屈身，尼波弯腰；巴比伦的偶像驮在兽和牲畜上。他们所抬的如今成了重驮，使牲畜疲乏，2都一同弯腰屈身，不能保全重驮，自己倒被掳去。
1Bel has bowed down, Nebo stoops over;
Their idols have become loads for the animals and the cattle.
The things that you carry are burdensome,
A load for the weary animal. 2They stooped over, they have bowed down together;
They could not rescue the burden,
But have themselves gone into captivity.

3雅各家，以色列家一切余剩的要听我言：你们自从生下，就蒙我保抱，自从出胎，便蒙我怀搋。4直到你们年老，我仍这样；直到你们发白，我仍怀搋。我已造作，也必保抱；我必怀抱，也必拯救。

5你们将谁与我相比，与我同等，可以与我比较，使我们相同呢？6那从囊中抓金子，用天平平银子的人，雇银匠制造神像，他们又俯伏，又叩拜。7他们将神像抬起，扛在肩上，安置在定处，它就站立，不离本位；人呼求它，它不能答应，也不能救人脱离患难。
5“To whom would you liken Me
And make Me equal, and compare Me,
That we would be alike? 6“Those who lavish gold from the bag
And weigh silver on the scale,
Hire a goldsmith, and he makes it into a god;
They bow down, indeed they worship it. 7“They lift it on the shoulder, carry it,
And set it in its place, and it stands there.
It does not move from its place.
Though one may shout to it, it cannot answer;
It cannot save him from his distress.
And make Me equal, and compare Me,

Recall it to mind, you wrongdoers. 9“Remember the former things long past,
For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is no one like Me, 10Declaring the end from the beginning,
And from ancient times things which have not been done,
Saying, ‘My plan will be established,
And I will accomplish all My good pleasure’; 11Calling a bird of prey from the east,
The man of My purpose from a distant country.
Truly I have spoken; truly I will bring it to pass.
I have planned it, I will certainly do it.
Recall it to mind, you wrongdoers. 9“Remember the former things long past,
