Israel Reaps the Whirlwind
1Tiuplah sangkakala ! Serangan laksana rajawali atas rumah TUHAN ! Oleh karena mereka telah melangkahi perjanjian-Ku dan telah mendurhaka terhadap pengajaran-Ku. 2Kepada-Ku mereka berseru-seru: "Ya Allahku, kami, Israel mengenal Engkau!" 3Israel telah menolak yang baik -- biarlah musuh mengejar dia! 4Mereka telah mengangkat raja, tetapi tanpa persetujuan-Ku; mereka mengangkat pemuka, tetapi dengan tidak setahu-Ku. Dari emas dan peraknya mereka membuat berhala-berhala bagi dirinya sendiri, sehingga mereka dilenyapkan. 5Aku menolak anak lembumu, hai Samaria; murka-Ku menyala terhadap mereka! Sampai berapa lama tidak dapat disucikan, 6orang-orang Israel itu ? Itu dibuat oleh tukang, dan itu bukan Allah ! Sungguh, akan menjadi serpih anak lembu Samaria itu! 7Sebab mereka menabur angin, maka mereka akan menuai puting beliung; gandum yang belum menguning tidak ada pada mereka; tumbuh-tumbuhan itu tidak menghasilkan tepung; dan jika memberi hasil, maka orang-orang lain menelannya.
1Put the trumpet to your lips!
Like an eagle the enemy comes against the house of the LORD,
Because they have violated My covenant
And rebelled against My Law. 2They cry out to Me,
“My God, we of Israel know You!” 3Israel has rejected the good;
The enemy will pursue him. 4They have set up kings, but not by Me;
They have appointed officials, but I did not know it.
With their silver and gold they have made idols for themselves,
So that they will be eliminated. 5He has rejected your calf, Samaria, saying,
“My anger burns against them!”
How long will they be incapable of innocence? 6For from Israel comes even this!
A craftsman made it, so it is not God;
Assuredly, the calf of Samaria will be broken to pieces. 7For they sow wind
And they harvest a storm.
The standing grain has no kernels;
It yields no grain.
If it were to yield, strangers would swallow it.

8Israel sudah ditelan; sekarang mereka itu ada di antara bangsa-bangsa seperti barang yang tidak disukai orang. 9Sebab mereka telah pergi ke Asyur, bagaikan keledai hutan yang memencilkan diri; Efraim telah membagi-bagi hadiah cinta. 10Sekalipun mereka membagi-bagi hadiah itu di antara bangsa-bangsa, sekarang ini Aku akan mengumpulkan mereka, dan sebentar lagi mereka akan berhenti mengurapi raja dan para pemuka.

They are now among the nations
Like a vessel in which no one delights. 9For they have gone up to Assyria,
Like a wild donkey all alone;
Ephraim has paid fees for lovers. 10Even though they pay for allies among the nations,
I will gather them up now;
And they will begin to diminish
Because of the burden of the king of officials.

11Sungguh, Efraim telah memperbanyak mezbah; mezbah-mezbah itu menjadikan mereka berdosa. 12Sekalipun Kutuliskan baginya banyak pengajaran-Ku, itu akan dianggap mereka sebagai sesuatu yang asing. 13Mereka mencintai korban sembelihan; mereka mempersembahkan daging dan memakannya; tetapi TUHAN tidak berkenan kepada mereka. Sekarang Ia akan mengingat kesalahan mereka dan akan menghukum dosa mereka; mereka harus kembali ke Mesir ! 14Israel telah melupakan Pembuatnya dan telah mendirikan istana-istana; Yehuda telah memperbanyak kota-kota yang berkubu; tetapi Aku akan melepas api ke dalam kota-kota mereka, sehingga puri mereka dimakan habis.
11Since Ephraim has multiplied altars for sin,
They have become altars of sinning for him. 12Though I wrote for him ten thousand precepts of My Law,
They are regarded as a strange thing. 13As for My sacrificial gifts,
They sacrifice the flesh and eat it,
But the LORD has taken no delight in them.
Now He will remember their guilt,
And punish them for their sins;
They will return to Egypt. 14For Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces;
And Judah has multiplied fortified cities,
But I will send a fire on its cities, and it will consume its palatial buildings.
They have become altars of sinning for him. 12Though I wrote for him ten thousand precepts of My Law,
