The Offering of Isaac
1這些事以後，神要試驗亞伯拉罕，就呼叫他說：「亞伯拉罕！」他說：「我在這裏。」2神說：「你帶著你的兒子，就是你獨生的兒子，你所愛的以撒，往摩利亞地去，在我所要指示你的山上，把他獻為燔祭。」3亞伯拉罕清早起來，備上驢，帶著兩個僕人和他兒子以撒，也劈好了燔祭的柴，就起身往神所指示他的地方去了。4到了第三日，亞伯拉罕舉目遠遠地看見那地方。5亞伯拉罕對他的僕人說：「你們和驢在此等候，我與童子往那裏去拜一拜，就回到你們這裏來。」6亞伯拉罕把燔祭的柴放在他兒子以撒身上，自己手裏拿著火與刀；於是二人同行。7以撒對他父親亞伯拉罕說：「父親哪！」亞伯拉罕說：「我兒，我在這裏。」以撒說：「請看，火與柴都有了，但燔祭的羊羔在哪裏呢？」8亞伯拉罕說：「我兒，神必自己預備作燔祭的羊羔。」於是二人同行。
1Now it came about after these things, that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” 2Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you.” 3So Abraham got up early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him and his son Isaac; and he split wood for the burnt offering, and set out and went to the place of which God had told him. 4On the third day Abraham raised his eyes and saw the place from a distance. 5Then Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey, and I and the boy will go over there; and we will worship and return to you.” 6And Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and laid it on his son Isaac, and he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So the two of them walked on together. 7Isaac spoke to his father Abraham and said, “My father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” And he said, “Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” 8Abraham said, “God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” So the two of them walked on together.
9他們到了神所指示的地方，亞伯拉罕在那裏築壇，把柴擺好，捆綁他的兒子以撒，放在壇的柴上。10亞伯拉罕就伸手拿刀，要殺他的兒子。11耶和華的使者從天上呼叫他說：「亞伯拉罕！亞伯拉罕！」他說：「我在這裏。」12天使說：「你不可在這童子身上下手。一點不可害他！現在我知道你是敬畏神的了；因為你沒有將你的兒子，就是你獨生的兒子，留下不給我。」13亞伯拉罕舉目觀看，不料，有一隻公羊，兩角扣在稠密的小樹中。亞伯拉罕就取了那隻公羊來，獻為燔祭，代替他的兒子。14亞伯拉罕給那地方起名叫「耶和華以勒」（就是耶和華必預備的意思），直到今日人還說：「在耶和華的山上必有預備。」
9Then they came to the place of which God had told him; and Abraham built the altar there and arranged the wood, and bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. 10And Abraham reached out with his hand and took the knife to slaughter his son. 11But the angel of the LORD called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” 12He said, “Do not reach out your hand against the boy, and do not do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.” 13Then Abraham raised his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram caught in the thicket by its horns; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering in the place of his son. 14And Abraham named that place The LORD Will Provide, as it is said to this day, “On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.”
15耶和華的使者第二次從天上呼叫亞伯拉罕說：16「耶和華說：『你既行了這事，不留下你的兒子，就是你獨生的兒子，我便指著自己起誓說：17論福，我必賜大福給你；論子孫，我必叫你的子孫多起來，如同天上的星，海邊的沙。你子孫必得著仇敵的城門，18並且地上萬國都必因你的後裔得福，因為你聽從了我的話。』」19於是亞伯拉罕回到他僕人那裏，他們一同起身往別是巴去，亞伯拉罕就住在別是巴。
15Then the angel of the LORD called to Abraham a second time from heaven, 16and said, “By Myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand, which is on the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of their enemies. 18“And in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.” 19So Abraham returned to his young men, and they got up and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham lived in Beersheba.
20這事以後，有人告訴亞伯拉罕說：「密迦給你兄弟拿鶴生了幾個兒子，21長子是烏斯，他的兄弟是布斯和亞蘭的父親基母利，22並基薛、哈瑣、必達、益拉、彼土利（彼土利生利百加）。」23這八個人都是密迦給亞伯拉罕的兄弟拿鶴生的。24拿鶴的妾名叫流瑪，生了提八、迦含、他轄，和瑪迦。
20Now it came about after these things, that Abraham was told, saying, “Behold, Milcah also has borne children to your brother Nahor: 21Uz his firstborn, Buz his brother, Kemuel (the father of Aram), 22Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel”— 23and it was Bethuel who fathered Rebekah. These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham’s brother. 24His concubine, whose name was Reumah, also gave birth to Tebah, Gaham, Tahash, and Maacah.
