The Doom of Sodom
1那两个天使晚上到了所多玛；罗得正坐在所多玛城门口，看见他们，就起来迎接，脸伏于地下拜，2说：「我主啊，请你们到仆人家里洗洗脚，住一夜，清早起来再走。」他们说：「不！我们要在街上过夜。」3罗得切切地请他们，他们这才进去，到他屋里。罗得为他们预备筵席，烤无酵饼，他们就吃了。4他们还没有躺下，所多玛城里各处的人，连老带少，都来围住那房子，5呼叫罗得说：「今日晚上到你这里来的人在哪里呢？把他们带出来，任我们所为。」6罗得出来，把门关上，到众人那里，7说：「众弟兄，请你们不要做这恶事。8我有两个女儿，还是处女，容我领出来，任凭你们的心愿而行；只是这两个人既然到我舍下，不要向他们做什么。」9众人说：「退去吧！」又说：「这个人来寄居，还想要作官哪！现在我们要害你比害他们更甚。」众人就向前拥挤罗得，要攻破房门。10只是那二人伸出手来，将罗得拉进屋去，把门关上，11并且使门外的人，无论老少，眼都昏迷；他们摸来摸去，总寻不着房门。
1Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening as Lot was sitting at the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he stood up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground. 2And he said, “Now behold, my lords, please turn aside into your servant’s house, and spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way.” They said, “No, but we shall spend the night in the public square.” 3Yet he strongly urged them, so they turned aside to him and entered his house; and he prepared a feast for them and baked unleavened bread, and they ate. 4Before they lay down, the men of the city—the men of Sodom—surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people from every quarter; 5and they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have relations with them.” 6But Lot went out to them at the doorway, and shut the door behind him, 7and said, “Please, my brothers, do not act wickedly. 8“Now look, I have two daughters who have not had relations with any man; please let me bring them out to you, and do to them whatever you like; only do not do anything to these men, because they have come under the shelter of my roof.” 9But they said, “Get out of the way!” They also said, “This one came in as a foreigner, and already he is acting like a judge; now we will treat you worse than them!” So they pressed hard against Lot and moved forward to break the door. 10But the men reached out their hands and brought Lot into the house with them, and shut the door. 11Then they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, from the small to the great, so that they became weary of trying to find the doorway.
12二人对罗得说：「你这里还有什么人吗？无论是女婿是儿女，和这城中一切属你的人，你都要将他们从这地方带出去。13我们要毁灭这地方；因为城内罪恶的声音在耶和华面前甚大，耶和华差我们来，要毁灭这地方。」14罗得就出去，告诉娶了或译：将要娶他女儿的女婿们说：「你们起来离开这地方，因为耶和华要毁灭这城。」他女婿们却以为他说的是戏言。
12Then the two men said to Lot, “Whom else do you have here? A son-in-law and your sons and daughters, and whomever you have in the city, bring them out of the place; 13for we are about to destroy this place, because their outcry has become so great before the LORD that the LORD has sent us to destroy it.” 14So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were to marry his daughters, and said, “Up, get out of this place, for the LORD is destroying the city.” But he appeared to his sons-in-law to be joking.
15天明了，天使催逼罗得说：「起来！带着你的妻子和你在这里的两个女儿出去，免得你因这城里的罪恶同被剿灭。」16但罗得迟延不走。二人因为耶和华怜恤罗得，就拉着他的手和他妻子的手，并他两个女儿的手，把他们领出来，安置在城外；17领他们出来以后，就说：「逃命吧！不可回头看，也不可在平原站住。要往山上逃跑，免得你被剿灭。」18罗得对他们说：「我主啊，不要如此！19你仆人已经在你眼前蒙恩；你又向我显出莫大的慈爱，救我的性命。我不能逃到山上去，恐怕这灾祸临到我，我便死了。20看哪，这座城又小又近，容易逃到，这不是一个小的吗？求你容我逃到那里，我的性命就得存活。」21天使对他说：「这事我也应允你；我不倾覆你所说的这城。22你要速速地逃到那城；因为你还没有到那里，我不能做什么。」因此那城名叫琐珥就是小的意思。
15When morning dawned, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Up, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away in the punishment of the city.” 16But he hesitated. So the men grasped his hand and the hand of his wife and the hands of his two daughters, because the compassion of the LORD was upon him; and they brought him out and put him outside the city. 17When they had brought them outside, one said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you, and do not stay anywhere in the surrounding area; escape to the mountains, or you will be swept away.” 18But Lot said to them, “Oh no, my lords! 19“Now behold, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have magnified your compassion, which you have shown me by saving my life; but I cannot escape to the mountains, for the disaster will overtake me and I will die; 20now behold, this town is near enough to flee to, and it is small. Please, let me escape there (is it not small?) so that my life may be saved.” 21And he said to him, “Behold, I grant you this request also, not to overthrow the town of which you have spoken. 22“Hurry, escape there, for I cannot do anything until you arrive there.” Therefore the town was named Zoar.
23罗得到了琐珥，日头已经出来了。24当时，耶和华将硫磺与火从天上耶和华那里降与所多玛和蛾摩拉，25把那些城和全平原，并城里所有的居民，连地上生长的，都毁灭了。26罗得的妻子在后边回头一看，就变成了一根盐柱。
23The sun had risen over the earth when Lot came to Zoar. 24Then the LORD rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah from the LORD out of heaven, 25and He overthrew those cities, and all the surrounding area, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. 26But Lot’s wife, from behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.
27亚伯拉罕清早起来，到了他从前站在耶和华面前的地方，28向所多玛和蛾摩拉与平原的全地观看，不料，那地方烟气上腾，如同烧窑一般。
27Now Abraham got up early in the morning and went to the place where he had stood before the LORD; 28and he looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the surrounding area; and behold, he saw the smoke of the land ascended like the smoke of a furnace.
29当神毁灭平原诸城的时候，他记念亚伯拉罕，正在倾覆罗得所住之城的时候，就打发罗得从倾覆之中出来。
29So it came about, when God destroyed the cities of the surrounding area, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the destruction, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot had lived.
Lot and His Daughters
30罗得因为怕住在琐珥，就同他两个女儿从琐珥上去，住在山里；他和两个女儿住在一个洞里。31大女儿对小女儿说：「我们的父亲老了，地上又无人按着世上的常规进到我们这里。32来！我们可以叫父亲喝酒，与他同寝。这样，我们好从他存留后裔。」33于是，那夜她们叫父亲喝酒，大女儿就进去和她父亲同寝；她几时躺下，几时起来，父亲都不知道。34第二天，大女儿对小女儿说：「我昨夜与父亲同寝。今夜我们再叫他喝酒，你可以进去与他同寝。这样，我们好从父亲存留后裔。」35于是，那夜她们又叫父亲喝酒，小女儿起来与她父亲同寝；她几时躺下，几时起来，父亲都不知道。36这样，罗得的两个女儿都从她父亲怀了孕。37大女儿生了儿子，给他起名叫摩押，就是现今摩押人的始祖。38小女儿也生了儿子，给他起名叫便·亚米，就是现今亚扪人的始祖。
30Now Lot went up from Zoar with his two daughters and stayed in the mountains, because he was afraid to stay in Zoar; and he stayed in a cave, he and his two daughters. 31Then the firstborn said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is not a man on earth to have relations with us according to the custom of all the earth. 32“Come, let’s make our father drink wine, and let’s sleep with him so that we may keep our family alive through our father.” 33So they made their father drink wine that night, and the firstborn went in and slept with her father; and he did not know when she lay down or got up. 34On the following day, the firstborn said to the younger, “Look, I slept last night with my father; let’s make him drink wine tonight too, then you go in and sleep with him, so that we may keep our family alive through our father.” 35So they had their father drink wine that night too, and the younger got up and slept with him; and he did not know when she lay down or got up. 36And so both of the daughters of Lot conceived by their father. 37The firstborn gave birth to a son, and named him Moab; he is the father of the Moabites to this day. 38As for the younger, she also gave birth to a son, and named him Ben-ammi; he is the father of the sons of Ammon to this day.
