Pharaoh Warned of Assyria’s Fate
1Pada tahun kesebelas, dalam bulan yang ketiga, pada tanggal satu bulan itu, datanglah firman TUHAN kepadaku: 2"Hai anak manusia, katakanlah kepada Firaun, raja Mesir dan kepada khalayak ramai yang mengikutinya: Di dalam kebesaranmu siapakah yang dapat menyamai engkau? 3Lihat, Aku menyamakan engkau dengan pohon aras di Libanon, penuh dengan cabang yang elok dan daun yang rumpun sekali; tumbuhnya sangat tinggi, puncaknya sampai ke langit. 4Sungai-sungai membuatnya besar samudera raya membuatnya meninggi; itu membuat sungainya mengalir mengelilingi bedengnya itu; dan menjulurkan saluran-saluran ke segala pohon yang ada di padang. 5Maka dari itu tumbuhnya lebih tinggi dari segala pohon di padang; ranting-rantingnya menjadi banyak, cabang-cabangnya menjadi panjang lantaran air yang melimpah datang. 6Pada rantingnya diam bersarang segala burung yang di udara, di bawah cabangnya segala binatang di hutan, melahirkan anaknya; dan semuanya bangsa besar duduk bernaung di bawahnya. 7Ia elok karena besarnya dan karena cabangnya yang panjang-panjang; karena akarnya julur-jalar sampai di air yang berlimpah-limpah. 8Pohon-pohon aras di dalam taman Allah tidak akan dapat menyainginya, juga pohon sanobar tidak akan dapat menyamai ranting-rantingnya, dan pohon berangan tidak dapat dibandingkan dengan cabang-cabangnya. Segala pohon-pohon yang di taman Allah tiada yang dapat disamakan dengan dia mengenai keelokannya. 9Aku membuat dia sungguh-sungguh elok dengan cabang-cabangnya yang sangat rapat. Di taman Eden, di taman Allah segala pohon cemburu padanya.
1In the eleventh year, in the third month, on the first of the month, the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2“Son of man, say to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his hordes,
‘Whom are you like in your greatness?
3‘Behold, Assyria was a cedar in Lebanon
With beautiful branches and forest shade,
And very high,
And its top was among the clouds.
4‘The waters made it grow, the deep made it high.
With its rivers it continually extended all around its planting place,
And sent out its channels to all the trees of the field.
5‘Therefore its height was loftier than all the trees of the field
And its boughs became many and its branches long
Because of many waters as it spread them out.
6‘All the birds of the sky nested in its twigs,
And under its branches all the animals of the field gave birth,
And all great nations lived under its shade.
7‘So it was beautiful in its greatness, in the length of its branches;
For its roots extended to many waters.
8‘The cedars in God’s garden could not match it;
The junipers could not compare with its branches,
And the plane trees could not match its branches.
No tree in God’s garden could compare with it in its beauty.
9‘I made it beautiful with the multitude of its branches,
And all the trees of Eden, which were in the garden of God, were jealous of it.

10Oleh sebab itu beginilah firman Tuhan ALLAH: Oleh karena ia tumbuh tinggi dan puncaknya menjulang sampai ke langit dan ia menjadi sombong karena ketinggiannya, 11maka Aku telah menyerahkan dia ke dalam tangan seorang berkuasa di antara bangsa-bangsa, supaya ia memperlakukannya selaras dengan kejahatannya; Aku menghalau dia. 12Orang-orang asing, yaitu yang paling ganas di antara bangsa-bangsa, akan menebang dia dan membiarkannya; di atas gunung-gunung dan di semua lembah cabang-cabangnya berjatuhan dan di semua alur sungai negeri itu ranting-rantingnya berpatahan dan semua bangsa di bumi pergi lari dari naungannya dan membiarkan dia. 13Di atas batangnya yang roboh itu berhinggapan segala burung di udara dan di antara cabang-cabangnya diam segala binatang di hutan. 14Semuanya ini terjadi supaya segala pohon yang di tepi air jangan meninggikan dirinya dan puncaknya jangan dijulurkan sampai ke langit dan supaya pohon-pohon besar, yaitu semua yang menghisap banyak air, jangan tetap berdiri di dalam kecongkakannya; sebab mereka semuanya telah diserahkan ke dalam maut, ke dalam bumi yang paling bawah, di tengah anak-anak manusia yang telah turun ke liang kubur.
10‘Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: “Because it is tall in stature and has put its top among the clouds, and its heart is haughty in its loftiness, 11I will hand it over to a ruler of the nations; he will thoroughly deal with it. In accordance with its wickedness I have driven it out. 12“Foreign tyrants of the nations have cut it down and left it; on the mountains and in all the valleys its branches have fallen, and its branches have been broken in all the ravines of the land. And all the peoples of the earth have gone down from its shade and left it. 13“All the birds of the sky will nest on its fallen trunk, and all the animals of the field will rest on its fallen branches, 14so that all the trees by the waters will not be exalted in their stature, nor put their tops among the clouds, nor will any of their well-watered mighty ones stand straight in their height. For they have all been turned over to death, to the earth beneath, among mankind, with those who go down to the pit.”
15Beginilah firman Tuhan ALLAH: Pada hari ia turun ke dunia orang mati, Aku membuat samudera raya berkabung karena dia. Aku mengempang sungai-sungainya, sehingga air banjirnya dibendung. Dan karena dia Aku membuat gunung Libanon berpakaian kabung dan membuat segala pohon di hutan layu lesu. 16Mendengar derum kejatuhannya Aku membuat bangsa-bangsa gemetar, pada saat Aku menurunkan dia ke dunia orang mati, menjumpai mereka yang telah turun ke liang kubur. Dan segala pohon taman Eden akan merasa terhibur di bumi yang paling bawah, yaitu pohon yang terpilih dan yang terindah dari Libanon, yang menghisap banyak air. 17Mereka juga turun bersama dia ke dunia orang mati, yaitu ke orang-orang yang mati terbunuh oleh pedang, dan mereka yang bernaung di bawahnya di tengah bangsa-bangsa mati juga.
15‘This is what the Lord GOD says: “On the day when it went down to Sheol I caused mourning; I closed the deep over it and held back its rivers. And its many waters were stopped up, and I made Lebanon mourn for it, and all the trees of the field wilted away on account of it. 16“I made the nations quake from the sound of its fall when I made it go down to Sheol with those who go down to the pit; and all the well-watered trees of Eden, the choicest and best of Lebanon, were comforted in the earth beneath. 17“They also went down with it to Sheol to those who were slain by the sword; and those who were its strength lived in its shade among the nations.
18Maka dengan siapakah engkau dapat disamakan di antara pohon-pohon di taman Eden dalam hal kemuliaan dan kebesaran ? Engkau akan diturunkan ke bumi yang paling bawah bersama pohon-pohon di taman Eden dan engkau telentang di tengah orang-orang yang tak bersunat bersama orang-orang yang mati terbunuh oleh pedang. Itulah Firaun dengan semua khalayak ramai yang mengikutinya, demikianlah firman Tuhan ALLAH."
18“To which among the trees of Eden are you so alike in glory and greatness? Yet you will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the earth beneath; you will lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with those who were killed by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his hordes!”’ declares the Lord GOD.”
