Parable of the Sword of the LORD
1耶和华的话临到我说：2「人子啊，你要面向耶路撒冷和圣所滴下预言，攻击以色列地。3对以色列地说，耶和华如此说：我与你为敌，并要拔刀出鞘，从你中间将义人和恶人一并剪除。4我既要从你中间剪除义人和恶人，所以我的刀要出鞘，自南至北攻击一切有血气的；5一切有血气的就知道我—耶和华已经拔刀出鞘，必不再入鞘。6人子啊，你要叹息，在他们眼前弯着腰，苦苦地叹息。7他们问你说：『为何叹息呢？』你就说：『因为有风声、灾祸要来。人心都必消化，手都发软，精神衰败，膝弱如水。看哪，这灾祸临近，必然成就。这是主耶和华说的。』」
1And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 2“Son of man, set your face against Jerusalem, and speak prophetically against the sanctuaries and prophesy against the land of Israel; 3and say to the land of Israel, ‘This is what the LORD says: “Behold, I am against you; and I will draw My sword from its sheath and cut off from you the righteous and the wicked. 4“Because I will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked, therefore My sword will go out from its sheath against humanity from south to north. 5“So humanity will know that I, the LORD, have drawn My sword from its sheath. It will not return to its sheath again.”’ 6“As for you, son of man, groan with a breaking heart and bitter grief; you shall groan in their sight. 7“And when they say to you, ‘Why are you groaning?’ you shall say, ‘Because of the news, for it is coming; and every heart will melt, all hands will go limp, every spirit will be disheartened, and all knees will drip with water. Behold, it is coming and it will happen,’ declares the Lord GOD.”
8耶和华的话临到我说：9「人子啊，你要预言。耶和华吩咐我如此说：有刀、有刀，是磨快擦亮的；10磨快为要行杀戮，擦亮为要像闪电。我们岂可快乐吗？罚我子的杖藐视各树。11这刀已经交给人擦亮，为要应手使用。这刀已经磨快擦亮，好交在行杀戮的人手中。12人子啊，你要呼喊哀号，因为这刀临到我的百姓和以色列一切的首领。他们和我的百姓都交在刀下，所以你要拍腿叹息。13有试验的事；若那藐视的杖归于无有，怎么样呢？这是主耶和华说的。
8And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
9“Son of man, prophesy and say, ‘This is what the LORD says:’ Say,
‘A sword, a sword sharpened
And also polished!
10‘Sharpened to make a slaughter,
Polished to flash like lightning!’
Or shall we rejoice, the rod of My son despising every tree?
11“And it is given to be polished, so that it may be handled; the sword is sharpened and polished, to hand it over to the slaughterer. 12“Cry out and wail, son of man; for it is against My people, it is against all the officials of Israel. They are turned over to the sword with My people, therefore slap your thigh. 13“For there is a testing; and what if even the rod which despises will cease to be?” declares the Lord GOD.
9“Son of man, prophesy and say, ‘This is what the LORD says:’ Say,
‘A sword, a sword sharpened
And also polished!
10‘Sharpened to make a slaughter,
Polished to flash like lightning!’
Or shall we rejoice, the rod of My son despising every tree?
11“And it is given to be polished, so that it may be handled; the sword is sharpened and polished, to hand it over to the slaughterer. 12“Cry out and wail, son of man; for it is against My people, it is against all the officials of Israel. They are turned over to the sword with My people, therefore slap your thigh. 13“For there is a testing; and what if even the rod which despises will cease to be?” declares the Lord GOD.
14「人子啊，你要拍掌预言。我—耶和华要使这刀，就是致死伤的刀，一连三次加倍刺人，进入他们的内屋，使大人受死伤的就是这刀。15我设立这恐吓人的刀，攻击他们的一切城门，使他们的心消化，加增他们跌倒的事。哎！这刀造得像闪电，磨得尖利，要行杀戮。16刀啊，你归在右边，摆在左边；你面向哪方，就向那方杀戮。17我也要拍掌，并要使我的忿怒止息。这是我—耶和华说的。」
14“You therefore, son of man, prophesy and clap your hands; and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword for the slain. It is the sword for the great one slain, which surrounds them, 15so that their hearts will waver, and many fall at all their gates. I have granted the slaughter of the sword. Oh! It is made for striking like lightning, it is sharpened in readiness for slaughter. 16“Prove yourself sharp, go to the right; set yourself; go to the left, wherever your edge is ordered. 17“I will also clap My hands, and I will satisfy My wrath; I, the LORD, have spoken.”
The Instrument of God’s Judgment
18耶和华的话又临到我说：19「人子啊，你要定出两条路，好使巴比伦王的刀来。这两条路必从一地分出来，又要在通城的路口上画出一只手来。20你要定出一条路，使刀来到亚扪人的拉巴；又要定出一条路，使刀来到犹大的坚固城耶路撒冷。21因为巴比伦王站在岔路那里，在两条路口上要占卜。他摇签原文是箭求问神像，察看牺牲的肝；22在右手中拿着为耶路撒冷占卜的签，使他安设撞城锤，张口叫杀，扬声呐喊，筑垒造台，以撞城锤，攻打城门。23据那些曾起誓的犹大人看来，这是虚假的占卜；但巴比伦王要使他们想起罪孽，以致将他们捉住。」
18And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 19“Now as for you, son of man, make two ways for the sword of the king of Babylon to come; both of them will go out of one land. And make a signpost; make it at the head of the way to the city. 20“You shall mark a way for the sword to come to Rabbah of the sons of Ammon, and to Judah into fortified Jerusalem. 21“For the king of Babylon stands at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination; he shakes the arrows, he consults the household idols, he looks at the liver. 22“Into his right hand came the divination, ‘Jerusalem,’ to set up battering rams, to open the mouth for slaughter, to raise the voice with a battle cry, to set up battering rams against the gates, to pile up assault ramps, to build a siege wall. 23“And it will be to them like a false divination in their eyes; they have sworn solemn oaths. But he makes guilt known, so that they may be seized.
24主耶和华如此说：「因你们的过犯显露，使你们的罪孽被记念，以致你们的罪恶在行为上都彰显出来；又因你们被记念，就被捉住。25你这受死伤行恶的以色列王啊，罪孽的尽头到了，受报的日子已到。26主耶和华如此说：当除掉冠，摘下冕，景况必不再像先前；要使卑者升为高，使高者降为卑。27我要将这国倾覆，倾覆，而又倾覆；这国也必不再有，直等到那应得的人来到，我就赐给他。」
24“Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Because you have made your guilt known, in that your offenses are uncovered, so that in all your deeds your sins are seen—because you have come to mind, you will be seized by the hand. 25‘And you, slain, wicked one, the prince of Israel, whose day has come, in the time of the punishment of the end,’ 26this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Remove the turban and take off the crown; this will no longer be the same. Exalt that which is low, and humble that which is high. 27‘Ruins, ruins, ruins, I will make it! This also will be no longer until He comes whose right it is, and I will give it to Him.’
28「人子啊，要发预言说：主耶和华论到亚扪人和他们的凌辱，吩咐我如此说：有刀，有拔出来的刀，已经擦亮，为行杀戮，使他像闪电以行吞灭。29人为你见虚假的异象，行谎诈的占卜，使你倒在受死伤之恶人的颈项上。他们罪孽到了尽头，受报的日子已到。30你将刀收入鞘吧！在你受造之处、生长之地，我必刑罚你。31我必将我的恼恨倒在你身上，将我烈怒的火喷在你身上；又将你交在善于杀灭的畜类人手中。32你必当柴被火焚烧；你的血必流在国中。你必不再被记念，因为这是我—耶和华说的。」
28“And you, son of man, prophesy and say, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says concerning the sons of Ammon and their taunting,’ and say: ‘A sword, a sword is drawn, sharpened for the slaughter, to make it consume, so that it may be like lightning— 29while they see false visions for you, while they divine lies for you—to place you on the necks of the wicked who are killed, whose day has come, in the time of the punishment of the end. 30‘Return it to its sheath. In the place where you were created, in the land of your origin, I will judge you. 31‘I will pour out My indignation on you; I will blow on you with the fire of My wrath, and I will hand you over to brutal men, craftsmen of destruction. 32‘You will be fuel for the fire; your blood will be in the midst of the land. You will not be remembered, for I, the LORD, have spoken.’”
