Basket of Fruit and Israel’s Captivity
1主耶和华又指示我一件事：我看见一筐夏天的果子。2他说：「阿摩司啊，你看见什么？」我说：「看见一筐夏天的果子。」耶和华说：「我民以色列的结局到了，我必不再宽恕他们。」3主耶和华说：「那日，殿中的诗歌变为哀号；必有许多尸首在各处抛弃，无人作声。」
1This is what the Lord GOD showed me, and behold, there was a basket of summer fruit. 2And He said, “What do you see, Amos?” And I said, “A basket of summer fruit.” Then the LORD said to me, “The end has come for My people Israel. I will not spare them any longer. 3“The songs of the palace will turn to wailing on that day,” declares the Lord GOD. “The corpses will be many; in every place they will throw them out. Hush!”
4你们这些要吞吃穷乏人、使困苦人衰败的，当听我的话！5你们说：月朔几时过去，我们好卖粮；安息日几时过去，我们好摆开麦子；卖出用小升斗，收银用大戥子，用诡诈的天平欺哄人，6好用银子买贫寒人，用一双鞋换穷乏人，将坏了的麦子卖给人。
4Hear this, you who trample the needy, to put an end to the humble of the land, 5saying,
“When will the new moon be over,
So that we may sell grain;
And the Sabbath, so that we may open the wheat market,
To make the ephah smaller and the shekel bigger,
And to cheat with dishonest scales, 6So as to buy the helpless for money,
And the needy for a pair of sandals,
And that we may sell the refuse of the wheat?”
“When will the new moon be over,
So that we may sell grain;
And the Sabbath, so that we may open the wheat market,

7耶和华指着雅各的荣耀起誓说：他们的一切行为，我必永远不忘。8地岂不因这事震动？其上的居民不也悲哀吗？地必全然像尼罗河涨起，如同埃及河涌上落下。9主耶和华说：到那日，我必使日头在午间落下，使地在白昼黑暗。10我必使你们的节期变为悲哀，歌曲变为哀歌。众人腰束麻布，头上光秃，使这场悲哀如丧独生子，至终如痛苦的日子一样。
7The LORD has sworn by the pride of Jacob,
“Indeed, I will never forget any of their deeds. 8“Because of this will the land not quake,
And everyone who lives in it mourn?
Indeed, all of it will rise up like the Nile,
And it will be tossed about
And subside like the Nile of Egypt. 9“And it will come about on that day,” declares the Lord GOD,
“That I will make the sun go down at noon,
And make the earth dark in broad daylight. 10“Then I will turn your festivals into mourning,
And all your songs into songs of mourning;
And I will put sackcloth around everyone’s waist,
And baldness on every head.
And I will make it like a time of mourning for an only son,
And the end of it will be like a bitter day.

11主耶和华说：日子将到，我必命饥荒降在地上。人饥饿非因无饼，干渴非因无水，乃因不听耶和华的话。12他们必飘流，从这海到那海，从北边到东边，往来奔跑，寻求耶和华的话，却寻不着。13当那日，美貌的处女和少年的男子必因干渴发昏。14那指着撒马利亚牛犊原文是罪起誓的说：但哪，我们指着你那里的活神起誓；又说：我们指着别是巴的神道神：原文是活起誓。这些人都必仆倒，永不再起来。
11“Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord GOD,
“When I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread or a thirst for water,
But rather for hearing the words of the LORD. 12“People will stagger from sea to sea
And from the north even to the east;
They will roam about to seek the word of the LORD,
But they will not find it. 13“On that day the beautiful virgins
And the young men will faint from thirst. 14“As for those who swear by the guilt of Samaria,
And say, ‘As your god lives, Dan,’
And, ‘As the way of Beersheba lives,’
They will fall and not rise again.”
