Ish-bosheth Murdered
1扫罗的儿子伊施波设听见押尼珥死在希伯，手就发软；以色列众人也都惊惶。2扫罗的儿子伊施波设有两个军长，一名巴拿，一名利甲，是便雅悯支派、比录人临门的儿子。比录也属便雅悯。3比录人早先逃到基他音，在那里寄居，直到今日。
1Now when Ish-bosheth, Saul’s son, heard that Abner had died in Hebron, his courage failed, and all Israel was horrified. 2And Saul’s son had two men who were commanders of troops: the name of the one was Baanah, and the name of the other Rechab, sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, of the sons of Benjamin (for Beeroth is also considered part of Benjamin, 3and the Beerothites fled to Gittaim and have lived there as strangers until this day).
4扫罗的儿子约拿单有一个儿子名叫米非波设，是瘸腿的。扫罗和约拿单死亡的消息从耶斯列传到的时候，他才五岁。他乳母抱着他逃跑；因为跑得太急，孩子掉在地上，腿就瘸了。
4Now Jonathan, Saul’s son, had a son who was disabled in both feet. He was five years old when the news of Saul and Jonathan came from Jezreel, and his nurse picked him up and fled. But it happened that in her hurry to flee, he fell and could no longer walk. And his name was Mephibosheth.
5一日，比录人临门的两个儿子利甲和巴拿出去，约在午热的时候到了伊施波设的家；伊施波设正睡午觉。6他们进了房子，假作要取麦子，就刺透伊施波设的肚腹，逃跑了。7他们进房子的时候，伊施波设正在卧房里躺在床上，他们将他杀死，割了他的首级，拿着首级在亚拉巴走了一夜，8将伊施波设的首级拿到希伯见大卫王，说：「王的仇敌扫罗曾寻索王的性命。看哪，这是他儿子伊施波设的首级；耶和华今日为我主我王在扫罗和他后裔的身上报了仇。」
5So the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, departed and came to the house of Ish-bosheth in the heat of the day, while he was taking his midday rest. 6And they came to the interior of the house as if to get wheat, and they struck him in the belly; and Rechab and his brother Baanah escaped. 7Now when they had come into the house, as he was lying on his bed in his bedroom, they struck him and killed him, and they beheaded him. And they took his head and traveled by way of the Arabah all night. 8Then they brought the head of Ish-bosheth to David at Hebron, and said to the king, “Behold, the head of Ish-bosheth the son of Saul, your enemy, who sought your life; so the LORD has given my lord the king vengeance this day on Saul and his descendants.”
9大卫对比录人临门的儿子利甲和他兄弟巴拿说：「我指着救我性命脱离一切苦难、永生的耶和华起誓：10从前有人报告我说，扫罗死了，他自以为报好消息；我就拿住他，将他杀在洗革拉，这就作了他报消息的赏赐。11何况恶人将义人杀在他的床上，我岂不向你们讨流他血的罪、从世上除灭你们呢？」12于是大卫吩咐少年人将他们杀了，砍断他们的手脚，挂在希伯的池旁，却将伊施波设的首级葬在希伯、押尼珥的坟墓里。
9But David replied to Rechab and his brother Baanah, sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said to them, “As the LORD lives, who has redeemed my life from all distress, 10when the one who informed me, saying, ‘Behold, Saul is dead,’ also viewed himself as the bearer of good news, I seized him and killed him in Ziklag, which was the reward I gave him for his news. 11“How much more, when wicked men have killed a righteous man in his own house on his bed, shall I not now require his blood from your hands and eliminate you both from the earth?” 12Then David commanded the young men, and they killed them and cut off their hands and feet, and hung them up beside the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ish-bosheth and buried it in the grave of Abner in Hebron.
