Offices of the Levites
1大卫年纪老迈，日子满足，就立他儿子所罗门作以色列的王。2大卫招聚以色列的众首领和祭司利未人。3利未人从三十岁以外的都被数点，他们男丁的数目共有三万八千；4其中有二万四千人管理耶和华殿的事，有六千人作官长和士师，5有四千人作守门的，又有四千人用大卫所做的乐器颂赞耶和华。6大卫将利未人革顺、哥辖、米拉利的子孙分了班次。
1Now when David reached old age, he made his son Solomon king over Israel. 2And he gathered together all the leaders of Israel with the priests and the Levites. 3Now the Levites were counted from thirty years old and upward, and their number by head count of men was thirty-eight thousand. 4Of these, twenty-four thousand were to oversee the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand were officers and judges, 5and four thousand were gatekeepers, and four thousand were praising the LORD with the instruments which David made for giving praise. 6David divided them into divisions according to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
Gershonites
7革顺的子孙有拉但和示每。8拉但的长子是耶歇，还有细坦和约珥，共三人。9示每的儿子是示罗密、哈薛、哈兰三人。这是拉但族的族长。10示每的儿子是雅哈、细拿、耶乌施、比利亚共四人。11雅哈是长子，细撒是次子。但耶乌施和比利亚的子孙不多，所以算为一族。
7Of the Gershonites there were Ladan and Shimei. 8The sons of Ladan were Jehiel the first, and Zetham and Joel, three. 9The sons of Shimei were Shelomoth, Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the heads of the fathers’ households of Ladan. 10The sons of Shimei were Jahath, Zina, Jeush, and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei. 11Jahath was the first and Zizah the second; but Jeush and Beriah did not have many sons, so they became a father’s household, one group for duty.
Kohathites
12哥辖的儿子是暗兰、以斯哈、希伯伦、乌薛共四人。13暗兰的儿子是亚伦、摩西。亚伦和他的子孙分出来，好分别至圣的物，在耶和华面前烧香、事奉他，奉他的名祝福，直到永远。14至于神人摩西，他的子孙名字记在利未支派的册上。15摩西的儿子是革舜和以利以谢。16革舜的长子是细布业；17以利以谢的儿子是利哈比雅。以利以谢没有别的儿子，但利哈比雅的子孙甚多。18以斯哈的长子是示罗密。19希伯伦的长子是耶利雅，次子是亚玛利亚，三子是雅哈悉，四子是耶加面。20乌薛的长子是米迦，次子是耶西雅。
12The sons of Kohath were four in number: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. 13The sons of Amram were Aaron and Moses. And Aaron was set apart to sanctify him as most holy, he and his sons forever, to burn incense before the LORD, to serve Him and bless in His name forever. 14But as for Moses, the man of God, his sons were named among the tribe of Levi. 15The sons of Moses were Gershom and Eliezer. 16The son of Gershom was Shebuel the chief. 17The son of Eliezer was Rehabiah the chief; and Eliezer had no other sons, but the sons of Rehabiah were very many. 18The son of Izhar was Shelomith the chief. 19The sons of Hebron were Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth. 20The sons of Uzziel were Micah the first and Isshiah the second.
Merarites
21米拉利的儿子是抹利、母示。抹利的儿子是以利亚撒、基士。22以利亚撒死了，没有儿子，只有女儿，他们本族基士的儿子娶了她们为妻。23母示的儿子是末力、以得、耶利摩共三人。
21The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli were Eleazar and Kish. 22Eleazar died and had no sons, but only daughters; so their relatives, the sons of Kish, took them as wives. 23The sons of Mushi were three: Mahli, Eder, and Jeremoth.

24以上利未子孙作族长的，照着男丁的数目，从二十岁以外，都办耶和华殿的事务。25大卫说：「耶和华—以色列的神已经使他的百姓平安，他永远住在耶路撒冷。26利未人不必再抬帐幕和其中所用的一切器皿了。」27照着大卫临终所吩咐的，利未人从二十岁以外的都被数点。28他们的职任是服事亚伦的子孙，在耶和华的殿和院子，并屋中办事，洁净一切圣物，就是办神殿的事务，29并管理陈设饼，素祭的细面，或无酵薄饼，或用盘烤，或用油调和的物，又管理各样的升斗尺度；30每日早晚，站立称谢赞美耶和华，31又在安息日、月朔，并节期，按数照例，将燔祭常常献给耶和华；32又看守会幕和圣所，并守耶和华吩咐他们弟兄亚伦子孙的，办耶和华殿的事。
24These were the sons of Levi according to their fathers’ households, the heads of the fathers’ households of those among them who were counted, in the number of names by their head count, doing the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from twenty years old and upward. 25For David said, “The LORD God of Israel has given rest to His people, and He dwells in Jerusalem forever. 26“Also, the Levites will no longer need to carry the tabernacle and all its utensils for its service.” 27For by the last words of David, the sons of Levi were counted from twenty years old and upward. 28For their office is to assist the sons of Aaron with the service of the house of the LORD, in the courtyards and in the chambers, and in the purification of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God, 29and with the showbread, and the fine flour for a grain offering, and unleavened wafers, or what is baked in the pan or what is well-mixed, and all measures of volume and size. 30They are to stand every morning to thank and to praise the LORD, and likewise at evening, 31and to offer all burnt offerings to the LORD, on the Sabbaths, the new moons and the appointed festivals, in the number determined by the ordinance concerning them, continually before the LORD. 32So they are to perform the duties of the tent of meeting, the holy place, and of assisting the sons of Aaron their relatives, for the service of the house of the LORD.
