Offices of the Levites
1大衛年紀老邁，日子滿足，就立他兒子所羅門作以色列的王。2大衛招聚以色列的眾首領和祭司利未人。3利未人從三十歲以外的都被數點，他們男丁的數目共有三萬八千；4其中有二萬四千人管理耶和華殿的事，有六千人作官長和士師，5有四千人作守門的，又有四千人用大衛所做的樂器頌讚耶和華。6大衛將利未人革順、哥轄、米拉利的子孫分了班次。
1Now when David reached old age, he made his son Solomon king over Israel. 2And he gathered together all the leaders of Israel with the priests and the Levites. 3Now the Levites were counted from thirty years old and upward, and their number by head count of men was thirty-eight thousand. 4Of these, twenty-four thousand were to oversee the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand were officers and judges, 5and four thousand were gatekeepers, and four thousand were praising the LORD with the instruments which David made for giving praise. 6David divided them into divisions according to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
Gershonites
7革順的子孫有拉但和示每。8拉但的長子是耶歇，還有細坦和約珥，共三人。9示每的兒子是示羅密、哈薛、哈蘭三人。這是拉但族的族長。10示每的兒子是雅哈、細拿、耶烏施、比利亞共四人。11雅哈是長子，細撒是次子。但耶烏施和比利亞的子孫不多，所以算為一族。
7Of the Gershonites there were Ladan and Shimei. 8The sons of Ladan were Jehiel the first, and Zetham and Joel, three. 9The sons of Shimei were Shelomoth, Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the heads of the fathers’ households of Ladan. 10The sons of Shimei were Jahath, Zina, Jeush, and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei. 11Jahath was the first and Zizah the second; but Jeush and Beriah did not have many sons, so they became a father’s household, one group for duty.
Kohathites
12哥轄的兒子是暗蘭、以斯哈、希伯倫、烏薛共四人。13暗蘭的兒子是亞倫、摩西。亞倫和他的子孫分出來，好分別至聖的物，在耶和華面前燒香、事奉他，奉他的名祝福，直到永遠。14至於神人摩西，他的子孫名字記在利未支派的冊上。15摩西的兒子是革舜和以利以謝。16革舜的長子是細布業；17以利以謝的兒子是利哈比雅。以利以謝沒有別的兒子，但利哈比雅的子孫甚多。18以斯哈的長子是示羅密。19希伯倫的長子是耶利雅，次子是亞瑪利亞，三子是雅哈悉，四子是耶加面。20烏薛的長子是米迦，次子是耶西雅。
12The sons of Kohath were four in number: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. 13The sons of Amram were Aaron and Moses. And Aaron was set apart to sanctify him as most holy, he and his sons forever, to burn incense before the LORD, to serve Him and bless in His name forever. 14But as for Moses, the man of God, his sons were named among the tribe of Levi. 15The sons of Moses were Gershom and Eliezer. 16The son of Gershom was Shebuel the chief. 17The son of Eliezer was Rehabiah the chief; and Eliezer had no other sons, but the sons of Rehabiah were very many. 18The son of Izhar was Shelomith the chief. 19The sons of Hebron were Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth. 20The sons of Uzziel were Micah the first and Isshiah the second.
Merarites
21米拉利的兒子是抹利、母示。抹利的兒子是以利亞撒、基士。22以利亞撒死了，沒有兒子，只有女兒，他們本族基士的兒子娶了她們為妻。23母示的兒子是末力、以得、耶利摩共三人。
21The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli were Eleazar and Kish. 22Eleazar died and had no sons, but only daughters; so their relatives, the sons of Kish, took them as wives. 23The sons of Mushi were three: Mahli, Eder, and Jeremoth.

24以上利未子孫作族長的，照著男丁的數目，從二十歲以外，都辦耶和華殿的事務。25大衛說：「耶和華─以色列的神已經使他的百姓平安，他永遠住在耶路撒冷。26利未人不必再抬帳幕和其中所用的一切器皿了。」27照著大衛臨終所吩咐的，利未人從二十歲以外的都被數點。28他們的職任是服事亞倫的子孫，在耶和華的殿和院子，並屋中辦事，潔淨一切聖物，就是辦神殿的事務，29並管理陳設餅，素祭的細麵，或無酵薄餅，或用盤烤，或用油調和的物，又管理各樣的升斗尺度；30每日早晚，站立稱謝讚美耶和華，31又在安息日、月朔，並節期，按數照例，將燔祭常常獻給耶和華；32又看守會幕和聖所，並守耶和華吩咐他們弟兄亞倫子孫的，辦耶和華殿的事。
24These were the sons of Levi according to their fathers’ households, the heads of the fathers’ households of those among them who were counted, in the number of names by their head count, doing the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from twenty years old and upward. 25For David said, “The LORD God of Israel has given rest to His people, and He dwells in Jerusalem forever. 26“Also, the Levites will no longer need to carry the tabernacle and all its utensils for its service.” 27For by the last words of David, the sons of Levi were counted from twenty years old and upward. 28For their office is to assist the sons of Aaron with the service of the house of the LORD, in the courtyards and in the chambers, and in the purification of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God, 29and with the showbread, and the fine flour for a grain offering, and unleavened wafers, or what is baked in the pan or what is well-mixed, and all measures of volume and size. 30They are to stand every morning to thank and to praise the LORD, and likewise at evening, 31and to offer all burnt offerings to the LORD, on the Sabbaths, the new moons and the appointed festivals, in the number determined by the ordinance concerning them, continually before the LORD. 32So they are to perform the duties of the tent of meeting, the holy place, and of assisting the sons of Aaron their relatives, for the service of the house of the LORD.
