- זוֹנָה, the participial noun "prostitute" derived from the same root as זָנָה (zânâh, H2181), is tagged at its own genuine occurrences describing a woman engaged in prostitution, as at Genesis 38:15 (Judah assumed Tamar "was a prostitute") and in the priestly restrictions on marrying such a woman at Leviticus 21:7 and 21:14.
