침상 기둥
성경의 기물
높은 침상의 평평한 잠자리 면은 네 귀퉁이에서 다리나 기둥이 받쳤다. 때로는 이 기둥이 침상 위로 사람이 선 키만큼 솟아 있었다. 기둥 꼭대기 위로 얇은 천을 펼쳐 땅까지 늘어뜨릴 수 있었다. 이렇게 하면 침상이 둘러싸여 벌레가 자는 사람을 괴롭히지 못했다(닫집, 모기장 참조).
