灌溉水渠、運河
聖經中的器物
灌溉水渠是在岩石上鑿出來或者在地上挖出來的小水道，把水從河流等較大的水源引到種植莊稼的田地裡面。 描述了灌溉水渠的作用：「我如從河裡引出來的水道，我如通到樂園的水渠」（《思》）。在澆灌園子時，把水從較大的水渠引到若干條較小的水渠，然後送到園子的各處；這個系統利用重力來輸送水。
